Allsopp & Chapple Bookstore was once the premier bookseller in Arkansas, occupying the historic Rose Building shortly after it was constructed. Established by Fred W. Allsopp and James Chapple, the bookstore was a mainstay in downtown Little Rock for over six decades, becoming a landmark of Main Street’s vibrant and bustling business district.

The iconic Rose Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed circa 1900,and named for Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Uriah M. Rose. Famed architect George R. Mann, whose designs include the Arkansas State Capitol, Albert Pike Hotel, Pulaski County Courthouse, and Gazette Building, designed the Rose Building with ornate detailing intrinsic to the beautiful Neoclassic Revival Style.

Now, as a tribute to a bygone era and in honor of the classic Rose Building, welcome to present-day Allsopp & Chapple. Sit down, relax, and savor the highest quality cuisine, fine wine, and handcrafted cocktails. Enjoy the company of others in an ambiance reminiscent of vintage Little Rock.
