Ambassador Program Expanding to River Market
(Little Rock, Ark.) Today, Downtown Little Rock Partnership Executive Director Gabe Holmstrom announced the expansion of the Ambassador Program to the River Market neighborhood.
The Ambassador Program, which DLRP started in February 2017, provides an additional, helpful presence downtown and works closely with LRPD. Cities across the country have similar programs where ambassadors will give directions, escort citizens to their cars, identify and report maintenance needs as well as take pictures for people.
“The Ambassador Program has been a great success on Main Street and the surrounding areas,” Holmstrom said. “Since the program began nineteen months ago, our ambassadors have reported hundreds of maintenance fixes and have interacted with thousands of residents, workers, and visitors to our downtown. They have made downtown more welcoming, and we are appreciative and excited to expand that hospitality to the River Market District.”
Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola, Tim Heiple of the River Market Neighborhood Association, area business and property owners, along with the new ambassadors were present at the announcement.
The ambassadors wear branded, black and yellow uniforms and will be on patrol seven days a week in the River Market.
